Nokia Lumia 510 Review

It’s time to step into the spot light with entry level Lumia phone named Lumia 510. The Nokia Lumia 510 is latest as well as most affordable addition to Nokia’s Windows Phone series, probably the lowest priced one. This phone cannot be called as a perfect product from Nokia because it combines some very good pros and a few cons as well, but it still impresses many. Coming to its specs, the phone has 4-inches large WVGA TFT screen for which it takes lead on Lumia 610 which has smaller 3.7- inches screen. Lumia 510 is equipped with 5 megapixel autofocus camera which is also capable to make VGA video recording similar to its 610.

Impressive so far, Nokia Lumia 510 is powered by 800 MHz Snapdragon S1 processor and 256 MB RAM where it stands in the same territory to Lumia 610. Nokia Lumia 510 will run Windows Phone 7.5, which can be updated to WP 7.8. However Window 7.5 users will not be able to upgrade to Window Phone 8 as it finally comes on board. The RAM can be seen as a sign of low compatibility with apps as we have noticed earlier in its previous replica 610. Storage will be another concern since its 4 GB internal memory is not extendible. However on the other hand, every Windows Phone comes with 7 GB of cloud storage on SkyDrive which will surely be helpful in case your internal memory gets filled. The phone is compact as it carries a weight of 129 grams and has dimension of 120.7 x 64.9 x 11.7mm. Nokia 510 has been pre-loaded with Nokia’s GPS-navigation apps, Nokia Drive and Nokia Maps. Furthermore, it supports extensive connectivity with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and there will be 3G HSDPA in the phone.

As we see the budgeted Windows Phone carries the specs of an average Smartphone still it is sure to take a great turn in smartphones market. Since with this launch, Nokia has offered the most affordable Nokia’s Windows Smartphone, Lumia 510 is going to give tough time to Android smartphones in competition. 4 inches large TFT screen, almost 1 GHz processing speed, 5 megapixel camera and not to mention offline SatNav are some winning combo for new Lumia 510. Agreeably, that is not going to outdo iPhone 5 thoroughly but then that is obviously not the segment the Nokia Lumia 510 is competing in.
